Dartmoor Ponies from Hedgehog Hollow Preserve in Maryland

Welcome to our Preserve!

Welcome to Hedgehod Hollow Preserve, the home of Dartmoor Ponies in the lush countryside of Central Maryland. 

 

Chris and Jeff Lafferman have been breeding Dartmoor Ponies since 1999 from two foundation mares imported from Dartmoor in Devon, England.

 

We have produced some unique stock and ponies that have been sold to driving enthusiasts, other breeders, and families with small child riders

 

 

This venture is small but devoted to the preservation of  the Dartmoor Breed. Our ponies have participated in local shows and in Summer riding camps. 

 

All the ponies are registered with the Dartmoor Pony Society of America and The Dartmoor Pony Registration of America.


The farm is located in Reisterstown, Maryland.
Dartmoor Ponies are an endearing breed of mountain and moreland hardy ponies. They are very sure footed and calm and love children and to be ridden by small riders. They make an ideal breed for children's first ponies. They are great on the trail and around other horses and animals.
